Definition Of Surveying

Engineering Survey is defined as the science of determining the position of nature and man-made features on or beneath the surface of the Earth. The features may be represented in analog from as a contour map, plan, or charts. The features can also be represented in digital format.

Engineering surveying helps in the planning, design and construction works, both on the surface and underground works. Surveying needs completely field works with without direct field visit by the technical team. The surveying of many works will be incomplete. To carry real data from the field the technical team must involved in measurement of the various lengths, height, angle, widths etc. So, in engineering surveying the measurement is the primary task.
